Me (Arrol):
Hello I'm the event organizer. I also run the retro store “Geek Inventory” and the editor/ publisher of “The Retro Magazine”. I haven’t slept in 3 weeks, and I fall asleep by dozing off and banging my head on the table…MAGICAL. I love all things retro, gaming, movies and…people! I love bringing people together and helping businesses and networking. I also like food, please bring me some.
My Wife (Ashika):
These events wouldn’t exist without her. From the very first late-night brainstorms to me being up at 4am planning, she’s been there, supporting, encouraging, and making sure we’re always moving forward. She’s got an eye for detail, and every decision I make has her stamp of approval - so really, every part of this journey has a bit of her in it. She loves all the retro stuff as much as me. Kirby is among her favourite characters and wow…she also likes Fanta and all the foods I like! Its almost as if she didn’t write this and this is just a ploy to get more free food! Magical!

We started 10 years ago with GameBoys. Yep, just selling them to mates. She saw the buzz and said, "Why not sell them online?" That one idea turned our little garage into a stockroom-slash-hangout. And yes I wrote down slash. Before we knew it, we were dreaming up epic retro events to share with everyone.
Then the lockdown hit. Toilet paper wars, Countdown community notices turning into 1out services – you know ... Magical! Events were cancelled, the garage was bursting at the seams, and we needed space to breathe. So, we built a room...out of a garden shed. What started as a DIY hangout spot for mates turned into our Retro Event HQ... memories with friends, family, endless laughter & plans for the future.
We love everything about the retro era. It had the best movies, games, and toys, hands down. So we thought… let’s put on a show where people can see why it’s the greatest era, and today’s kids can experience it too. From the start, our goal was to make this something kids could get into. They’re the ones who’ll carry the torch and keep the retro movement alive for generations to come.
And to you - the wonderful people reading this...thank you so much for being part of this journey. You’re all part of the retro family now so let’s keep building something great together & make it more better. Here’s to more… retro magic.
